Detox made fun!

Here is a great article I found on NPR. It makes detox seem way more manageable so I thought I needed to share!
Enjoy!

I usually go for activated charcoal followed by a lump of clay.

At least the author realized that a liquid diet was ridonkulous. Nothing wrong with her recipes, but they will not "detox" a person. That's just silly.

Or you could read the numerous threads on MFP on 'detoxes' and 'cleanses' and realise not to waste your time reading silly articles promoting practices with no evidence base. Your body needs nutritious food that supports normal function of the organs of excretion all year round not just in January.

I don't personally see anything fun about defecating, urinating and sweating but each to their own.

I just thought she made a good point of a liquid detox being unmanageable and I liked the recipes. Take it as you may.

I just thought she made a good point of a liquid detox being unmanageable and I liked the recipes. Take it as you may.

That point has been made on multiple threads in the last two weeks and well as numerous warnings on safety and lack of any scientific basis. 'Detox' recipes are just pandering to people who want to believe, promoting a myth not debunking it. There is the recipes board for recipes this board is for nutrition, which is a science.
