Summer vacation

I'm going out of town toward the end of May until sometime mid-June. How do you keep up with watching your meals so closely and working out? Any suggestions for being out of town? Plus, I'm going to be in Key West...so lots of alcohol and bad food!

    Thats is going to be rough...especially since you are going for such a long time.

    You can try and figure out the restaurants that are going to be near where you are staying, so you can look up their menu and check out the calories before hand, so you can have an idea of what you can or cant order.

    When you get there, stock up your room, with healthy snack and fruits and water

    Try and eat as many meals as you can at home, so you can atleast get some healthy meals throughout the day.

    Find out if the place has a gym, if not find a walking route and see if you can build up the willpower to workout out while on vacation

    There are low calorie alcohols you can order, just research ahead so you can atleast have fun

    I went on a trip to Cancun for two weeks last winter. It's very hard to let yourself be good on vacation, unless you keep track. I know on the days i don't log in to MFP are the days when I eat the most junk. Try your hardest to stay tuned into this site. or at least write down what you're having. I find when I'm with friends and we start drinking, I really don't count how many beverages I've had or how many pizza slices I've had, I think your best ally is just your mind and keeping track of what you consume. If you're embarrassed to write down how much you've eaten, it's too much XD!!!!

    And if the hotel has a gym that's even better!!! I love to work out in new places with new equipment. A walking path isn't so motivating to me. But that of course is just me!

    I am nervous about the same thing. I am going to Miami next week. I have been wondering how I would keep track. One thing I am doing is going to the grocery store there. So, that will minimize eating out as often. I am not gonna be there as long so it is less of a worry. But I would just make sure you try and cook more often then going out to eat.

    You may also want to consider changing your goals for the vacation. Maybe switch to maintenance for that time, then back on to weight loss when you gt back. That will give you some wiggle room.
