What is motivating to you.....

Many times people talk about putting pictures of people they want to look like, or that person has the abs you want and so on.
Pictures of models, or even of my former thinner self ....just depresses me. I'm never going to have these skinny skinny legs (and don't want them to be super skinny), I'm just never going to look like any of them, nor am I going to look like myself when I was
before kids.
clothes are usually not motivating either, unless I'm very close to fitting in them, or they are workout clothes lol.
what is motivating:
music that makes me happy, super charged, or even angry almost.
all my workouts have to have fast intense music including weight lifting
if I'm going to have visual inspiration, it has to be of a muscular but fit person
I may never or want to look like them, but I want to be able to see my muscles
and I can work out like them.
the feeling after a really challenging workout
more energy, feel healthier, and usually happier
likely bc of the endorphins, not bc of the actual weightloss
or bc I'm proud of myself for finally making the changes I know I need.
looking forward to competing in a race
looking forward to doing outdoor activities with my family confidently
not worried about finding something to wear
not werried about wearing a swimsuit
just being in the moment.
what is inspiring for you, and what doesn't work for you?

I keep the idea of some actresses bodies in mind, but I don't post pictures. I have an old favorite blouse I want to fit back into, that should happen sometime this year. Anytime I see a woman with shapely arms, that is the most motivating for weights. Negative motivation is looking at my beer belly in the mirror (I don't drink beer!)0

I use to be motivated by negative comments that someone made about me. Everytime I wanted to quit my work out or skip it all together, I would hear her words and push harder. Now, she no longer matters. What motivates me is sweating! I know so not "girly." I love looking in the mirror after a hard workout. I am always so proud of myself and I work for that feeling. Wow, and as I am writting this, I am realizing how far I have come!0

print out a picture of yourself and cut off the parts you want to lose (sounds a bit creepy, but you know what I mean) draw some muscles you would like to have on it. meditate and think of the body you want to have. think about what is going to be easier when you weigh less. things like not being out of breath after walking up the stairs or how much easier it will be to carry your groceries home. things like that!0

You have to visualize the "real" goal. Don't let the world's idea of perfect guide you. What would make you happy. What is healthy to you. When you visualize that, then the rest is just a day-by-day calorie count to fit.0

Actualy after i lost 70 pounds i loved how i looked well at the time i didnt i was young and always seeing my faults, but i see pics of me when i did it and i kept it off so long, I am now 40 pounds bigger and looking at an old picture gives me motivated, i honestly dont care to look like someone else i want to look like me a few years ago. I want to be healthy and the other thing that motivates me in a way is fear, i saw mommy dying with COPD and RA and Diabetes, I do not want to go that way, if i do then so be it that is Gods plan i supose but i do think we can prevent some of it from happening. God didnt intend for us to abuse our bodies and give it yukky foods he wanted us to have nuts grains fruits and veggies, so i think i am gonna do everything i can to make this body as strong as it can be til i do pass away. I want Quality of life... oh and Cathe Friedrich is very motivating along with all her wonderful fans0
