Turning 40 soon.

I started at MFP about a year ago and stuck with it for a couple of months and stuck with my working out for a little longer than that. Summer came, things became iffy. Fall came started working out again and was seeing some real progress. Holidays came and gained back everything.

I turn 40 at the end of March and I don't want to start a whole new decade feeling like I do now. So I'm trying MFP again.

I'm looking for some friends around my age (I'm also a mother of two boys - 4 & 6).

I will warn you...I HATE counting calories so there is good chance that my food diary will often have gaps. So if this bothers you don't become my friend please. Even though I want to lose weight I'm not really a "diet" person. Instead I try to focus on healthy eating and portion control. Everything in moderation.

Geeks/Nerds/Bookworms are very welcome.

    i hear you about the counting calories..i lost my first 40 w/o counting...just eating healthy and
    listening to when im full and not mindless eating. im following the south beach diet,which is a low
    sugar plan. now at a plateau and need to add excercise and be consistant.
    im 41, married, two daugthers and one grandson ...

    Welcome back! Definitely add me. I try to track everything I eat, but I'm not a diary nazi. I mostly do it for myself so that I can keep accountable for what I, personally am shoving in my face :bigsmile: I am turning 41 next month and realize that now is the time for me to turn things around, both for myself and for my daughters. So lets do this!

    hello all... =] just joined beginning of the year. always need friends. add me if anyone would like. i'll be 42 in july. only live once..make better choices now so i can enjoy my later years. i really use the food calculator...but that's because i want to see what i am actually eating. i lift weights and have for years...but i've never really paid attention to what i was eating. now i can hold myself accountable. i'm here for a reason...just like everyone else. i don't care if someone monitor their food, or exercise...or what ever. if you ask me for support or motivation, i'll do the best i can at providing it. we all have specific, seperate goals...so our journeys will all be different...but we will all cross the same finishline..and that's our goal. enjoy the day...and may it be a great one.

  • I just turned 40 and decided to change my life and shape up. I’ve lost 19lbs since August by just being a bit careful. I am now down to 11st and have just ordered a size 12 swimming costume. 14lbs to go. By the time I am 41 I want to get into a size 10. Friend me if you want 
