I am going to be 39 next month and I can't believe how much weight I have gained since I got married my senior year of college. I would love to take a year and work on me. I am currently a MSW student (hoping to graduate in 3 weeks). I have not had time to do anything but work, school, and family. My neighbor introduced me to this site and I love it. I have done well for two days. I know I will have a bad day every now and then but if I can manage all I have done so far then I think I can manage this. My goal is to take the emotional component out of it. I ate for emotional reasons but I don't have to diet/lose weight to impress anyone, make someone notice me, go in a depressive tailspin when I have a bad day and quit. This has happened before. I am almost 40 and I do it my way in every thing else but weight loss. I have a mother in law that harps about weight all the time (she needs to look in the mirror first) but this is not about her anymore. She is not an issue. I do not look my age. I do not act my age (except when the fat gets in the way) and I want to be fabulous at 40.

    Hi everyone,
wanted to say how much i love this site already and I just got started.
  • Thanks. I have my big MSW graduation in 3 weeks and want to find a non-granny looking dress. lol. It is a great site. My husband asked me to put his profile on as well. This should be fun and not hard like some other sites I have done. I had to do something b/c my feet have been swelling so much. Too much Mtn Dew I guess. Enjoy the ride girls b/c life is too short to be negative.

It's great you have decided to do this for yourself and not worry about what others say or think. I know it's hard! Good luck! This is a great site.

I'll be 37 next Thursday and recently weighed myself and realized that my weight was getting out of hand. When I met my boyfriend 5 years ago I weighed 64kg, i have been through a divorce since then and problems with my two teenage boys. Not to mention economic problems. And it all seems to have piled up also taking anti contraceptive pills and habitually drinking alcohol hasn't helped. I am now weighing over 20kg more and desperately want to change my bad habits and loose those extra kg, not only to look good but for my health as well.
I hope to look fabulous as 40
