I am wanting to put spinach in the mix, just for nutrition reasons. :) has anyone put spinach in their smoothie?? what is your favorite at home smoothie?? :)

I put Spinach and/or kale in my smoothies, you can't taste it, I also use almond or coconut milk, it's healthier!

I only make smoothies now if they have spinach in it. Check out eatingbirdfood.com and Britany has a recipe for the "Green Elvis". It is amazing. That is my go-to smoothie!

I put spinach and kale in the smoothies and if you freeze it first it lasts longer and gets rid of the sometimes bitter aftertaste that the kale gives you. You have to get over the color, but honestly can't taste them over the fruit and it's so much healthier!

Good idea on freezing them! I bought a big thing of spinach, afraid it will go bad before i can use it all, since im the only one eating it!!! I havent tried kale yet, but i plan on getting some soon! :)

not really a smoothie but cut up a banana and put it in the freezer for a couple hours, then put it in the blender with 1/2 cup of plain greek yogurt and 1 or 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. Blend, and then eat with a spoon! Sometimes i add a tablespoon of dark chocolate chips! so good!

My favorite is a protein smoothie.

    1 scoop vanilla protein powder
    1 cup water
    1/2 cup cottage cheese
    1 to 1 1/2 cups ice
2 tsp. matcha green tea powder
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
sweeten to your liking with whatever you choose (splenda, equal, stevia, etc)

Toss into the blender and mix under 100% smooth and creamy. Super yummy. Around 250 calories, 35 grams protein and 10 grams of carb.

    My favorite is:

1 c. frozen whole strawberries (no sugar added)
1/2 c. frozen blueberries (no sugar added)
    1/2 c. natural applesauce
1 c. light vanilla soymilk (or more as needed) - (can also use vanilla rice milk or almond milk)
    1 large handful of spinach

This has been a favorite for 2+ years now - I never get tired of it!

I love the green tea sensation from Robek's that's basically just green tea and yogurt. They also have a nice "tropi-kale" smoothie.

    Green Smoothie almost every day:

    2 cups spinach (or handful)
    cilantro (fresh)
    1 bananas
    1 apple
    1 pear
    cinnamon
    slice of ginger

enjoy... (I even drink this one warm in the winter... just let it blend a little longer)
