Throughout the day though I always level off at 2lbs heavier than my morning weight. I understand you weigh the lightest in the morning but 2lbs?! Is that a normal weight gain in a span of a few hours, when I'm only consuming light things (ex boiled egg, yogurt, cereal, banana).
Thanks guys!

I've heard your weight can fluctuate up to 5 lbs during a day.... don't have any scientific proof of that but I have heard that many times.

Mine fluctuates between 0.5lbs and 2lbs during the day.
I just focus on my weigh in days.
Every tuesday morning that is the weight I am most concerned about.

    THX amillion...!

    I just posted the following:

I know it's only been a couple of days since my feel good "ticker update" and you'd think that would keep me in the zone thru the weekend, right? Well I'm debating whether I need to readjust that drop. Just trying to keep it real before I head out to the gym to make-up for my achy-breaky past couple of days.......I know/believe that I put on what I initially lost. What to do? Would it suffice to start true or keep it & work back.....???

Should I average two readings? Any additional suggestions are welcome!

I just hate the 2-steps forward, 1-step back approach..........

I always blame all the water I drink on the higher weight at night. I figure the stuff we eat and drink takes time to go through our bodies so I don't count anything besides the first weigh in on weigh in day. And to answer, yes, I'm about 2 lbs heavier at night and I think that's the number my BFF gives too.

MJ, Re adjust it once a week. You will fluctuate up and down during the week. Even during the day.

Think about the weight of the food we eat.
2 cups/glasses of water weighs approx 1 lb.

Thanks guys! Its a little frustrating when you "lose" 2lbs then add two back ( so i'm back to my starting weight  )... but knowing this is normal and i'm not the only one definitely helps!

I agree with everyone else, I can gain two pounds in a day EASY! I also tend to get frustrated when I'm slowly losing weight on my morning weigh ins, and then suddenly (even though I've been doing so well with exercise and diet) I will gain a pound or two back. I've come to realize that it simply happens. I don't know why. It just does. However, when I finally took my measurements, I had lost an inch off my waist! How encouraging is THAT?! So, just remember that the numbers do NOT tell the whole story. Good luck, keep your chin up!

I always weigh myself first thing in the morning before breakfast. In the evening you are always 2 lbs heavier:wink:

I always weigh 2 pounds lighter in the morning than in the evening, unless I've had a really heavy meal. But 99% of the time, it is exactly 2 pounds. Some people can fluctuate more than that.
  • I'm a bit obsessive about weighing myself, but now I keep it to weighing every morning when I get up, and every night before I go to bed. I know for a fact that every night I am almost exactly 3lbs heavier than I am in the mornings! It doesn't bother me anymore, I figure it's normal, and every morning those three pounds seem to be gone (and on good days they take one of their friends with them! LOL). Don't worry about how your weight fluctuates through the day, pretty sure most of it is just water!

MJ...Look ahead...before long you will make that up and then its back in the green lady.....I have committed to only weighing on Mondays....such a fluctuation....and I have alot of other measurements to look forward to.....waist, legs, arms and my "ba donka donk"....and I take a fit test with my program every two weeks so I can see that Im getting more fit....So if the scale didnt move Im sure something else did....
