Hi ladies! I'm 5'11 and 200 pounds (started my journey at 225) and am wondering how many calories you all eat, and what your goals are. I would like to get down into the 160s. It is often discouraging to be this tall, because nobody notices if I lose weight unless I lose at least 20 pounds. Please feel free to add me, and share your stories! Thanks!

Hello!
I am also 5' 11" and just over 210 pounds, started at 222, signed up here at 215. I know what you mean about people not noticing unless you lose lots of weight. Plus, we have to lose a lot for our dress size to change. HOWEVER, the counter argument is that people didn't notice the weight going on and clothes sizes last a lot longer on the weight gain as well, so we can't have it both ways!
I am currently working to 1200 NET calories per day, but that is for January only and then will be going easier on myself. By net calories I mean calories eaten minus calories burned from exercise. I probably eat around 1600 - 1800 per day but exercise nearly every day too.

Hi!
I'm 5'10" and I just joined. I'm at 210 and want to get down to the 160s as well. I am in complete agreement, it takes a lot longer for people to notice weight loss because its distributed along a much longer surface .
I have a problem where I don't eat enough, fitnesspal calculated my calories at 1450-ish , then I burn between 500-600 (I have a polar heart rate monitor) with exercise so hopefully this will help me eat the right amount and lose the weight!0 -
I'm 5'10 and have just started again with a new higher calorie goal of minimum 1800 to 2000 per day.
Previously I was on 1480 and felt awful, then I upped to 1700 and stalled, then over 3 weeks from mid December to 31st December I didn't log at all ate what I liked and lost 1.8lbs.
So I'm starting over at 1800 to see how I get on this month then will likely switch to 5:2 fasting, just because I like the idea of it and think it will work for me.
I still struggle psychologically with eating more than 1200-1500 per day from years of crash dieting. But I now understand about BMR and TDEE so am determined to get a grip and be sensible for once!0 -
Hi Ladies,
I'm 5'11 and currently 195.6. In October I was about 210, not my highest weight, but the highest I had been for a couple of years.
My original goal was to get down to about 175-180. I have a large frame (according to wrist measurement) so this is right in an ideal range for my height.
BUT, since I've started following Jillian Michael's programs (already complete 30 Day Shred, and am 1/2 way through Ripped in 30) and now that I'm seeing more muscle definition and body changes, it has become about much more than just weight. I would still love to be in the 175-180 range (5 pounds either way no one is going to notice) but I want to get nice and fit and strong.
I currently have my calories set at 1730 a day, and I have my log/diary set up to eat back my exercise calories, which adds about 265 cals to the max. I'm still learning to get my intake up as high as it should, but mostly I make sure that I'm eating higher than my BMR which is 1700, and on average come in around the 1850-1975 mark.
Feel free to add me to your friend list if you'd like...and remember to show up to your own life, everyday, and give it your all. No regrets!0
