How much water weight do you gain at that time of the month?

Options
Hello

We all differ I know, but I'm trying to gauge how much I may have lost in weight on my first weigh in.

I started my weight loss plan a week ago and unfortunately I was on my period. I have weighed myself this morning, and there's a 1.2 kilo loss (2.75lbs)

Do you think some of that may have been fat loss and not just water?

Would you mind posting how much you gain at 'that time of the month' ?

Thanks ladies!

It varies, usually 1-2lbs sometimes more.

I gain 7-8 lbs. Hate it but I do lose it all by the end of the cycle. I purposely do not weigh myself during that TOM! good luck!

I typically gain ~2 lbs. I found an article that may be helpful (though I am not a doctor, dietitian, or scientist, so I cannot comment on the validity):

Good luck and keep on keepin on!

Its anywhere from 4-6 lbs for me. I try not to weigh myself during this time.
Makes me even crabier than I already am at that time.

Oh so I may of lost naff all in the way of fat, boo hoo.
Mind you, the meds I currently take do give me water retention in my legs / ankles, so, I may hold onto any water, and a bit of fat may have shifted.

    The following weeks will tell!

    Thanks ladies :-)

It feels like twenty pounds :frown: but it's around 2-4. I don't go by the difference between TOM and post TOM I just kind of ignore that week. If there is a loss over the week before that, it is probably fat loss.

I've had my period this week and I've lost weight. So, it doesn't always apply. Approach the week cautiously but don't be afraid. Some people aren't effected like others in water weight.

I think my average water weight / bloating / annoying time of the month gain is about ... 2 lbs? that's a high estimate. I wouldn't worry too much about that though because it'll take you a little while to equal out your weight loss anyway, menstruation is just an annoying flux but it doesn't last too long.

    Thank god! :P x
