Trying to help my husband

Hi, I used this site a few years ago and by monitoring food and exercise lost 30lbs. Now I'm trying to help my husband get the weight off. I need some new healthy lunch ideas. He's going to get tired of salad and sandwiches quickly. Any good ideas to fill him up for the rest of the afternoon.

Low-fat veggie soups, fat-free or low-fat yogurt, fruits, lots of water--fat-free&sugar-free&noncarbonated beverages. Just keep alternating them. Also the low-fat foods you had leftover from dinner/supper.
Do you think he might like those?0 -
My husband is definately a "Meat and potatoes" kind of guy. I started on this site in January, and after he saw me losing weight, he started a few months later. He's doing great, and has lost almost 40 pounds! The meals I used to cook were.....well.....let's just say...."Less than healthy", but I've found a lot of new ones that I like....and have actually been able to tweak quite a few of our old favorites to keep his (and my belly) satisfied. I would be happy to share a few with you Let me dig through my arsenal and see what I can find!!

Healthy leftovers are always a good one. You can also have him eat turkey/veggie chili, wraps (use lowfat/fat-free spreads and dressings), tuna, chicken salad, etc. Soups are a good idea as well if he likes them.
And you can always add a variety of things to salads to change them up. I myself am not a salad fan but the toppings/extras make a difference. You can add chicken, Greek olives, red peppers, feta and a vinaigrette for a Mediterranean salad; ground turkey spiced with taco seasoning, lowfat cheese, black olives, a couple slices of avocado, a couple of corn chips and lowfat ranch for a really good taco salad; grilled chicken a sprinkling of parmesan and lowfat Caesar dressing for a chicken Caesar salad. There are so many more options, Be creative.0 -

Grilled chicken. He can eat it with veggies, in a salad, or in a sandwich. That's the only diet food I make that my son and husband really like.0
