Questions regarding breast implants.

Ok, this is to all you ladies with implants...
I want to get implants but I have so many questions regarding the whole process/payment/etc etc. After losing all this weight I am self conscious of the way my breast look now.
How much (roughly) does it cost? I know that insurance does not cover plastic surgery.
How did you decide what size/type of breast implants you would get?
How long did it take you to heal?
Anything else you'd like to add would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I haven't had implants but I'm around your age and weight and wanted to give you a couple things to think about too. First of all breasts change size constantly and sometimes drastically...pregnancy, exercise, dietary change, even taking birth control, so if you add anything it might make them bigger than you'd like later. Secondly don't just do it because you're self conscious about your size, you can be proud of whatever you have! This is coming from someone who's a 32A lol. If it's about guys, just remember there's lots that will swear up and down they like smaller sizes, there's lots of benefits to being smaller too. And the third is more of a personal opinion, but having plastic, or silicon, in my body would kind of freak me out. But if you really decide to go for it because YOU want it and even though you're happy with your body you want something a little more, then go for it, but definitely research a LOT about the consequences. GL!0

^This. You're gorgeous and low 20s. Don't go cutting yourself up, esp. that young.0 -
I got silicone breast implants only 5 years ago.
played with them and picked the size I like best. 350 cc wanted to be a full C ended up with DD's.
Which made me very happy , once they are on your chest it's done so I am glad the ended up bigger.
I also got a breast lift because I was done with babies ect..the implants are weighty and you want them to sit up high not low.
Mine were $6000, plus $2000 for the lift. Birthday gift from husband , paid cash.
My recovery was easy, because I already had breast tissue no pulling on the skin. The only thing that was a bummer is you are told not to do cardio type stuff for 6 weeks..My shoulder surgery was worse for me than this.
goodluck
I love having implants but you need to be careful with them, I don't do heavy chest anymore , don't want them to shift which can happen..0 -
I only have them because the real ones tried to kill me, but the implant part of surgery was under $8000, but not by much. The only thing I hate about them is they make strength training a little uncomfortable and it is possible to displace them with heavy lifting. Mine are under the pectoralis muscle and are silicone.
Honestly, if I were you, I'd wait until you are older. I went from a small B to a DD between my early 20s and mid-30s. Even when I wasn't overweight, they stayed big. My current implants are full C small D, so slightly smaller than my natural ones were.0 -
Not trying to talk you into or out of it, but know at your young age, the likelihood that you'll have to have them replaced in your lifetime is fairly high. So don't just think the cost of doing it once, think of the cost (and recovery) of having to do it multiple times.0

I paid $5,000 cash.
How did you decide what size/type of breast implants you would get?
I did a lot of research, tried a couple samples on.
How long did it take you to heal?
fully? about 2 months.
i was 30 years old.0 -
This greatly varies by where you live, what doctor you go to, where the incision is placed, etc.
I had joined a breast aug. message board at the time, I suggest the same for you.
I live in South Florida, and paid about $4,500. I have saline. My recovery was rough, I'm guessing because I had a lift as well.
Best advice is to not expect perfection right after surgery. It was NOT pretty for a little while and takes a while for them to "drop". At first they look like two loaves of bread, and sit very high on your chest and are hard. So educate yourself and don't expect to come out of surgery looking like a model.0 -
Like others have said... really think about it. Try to be confident no matter what size you are now.
It's expensive, and has a decently long recovery time. Also, since you are young you will have to have surgeries in the future to fix them. I could be wrong in my time frame but I believe you do another surgery after 10 years? Also, since you are young if you are planning on having children with implants you may not be able to breastfeed which is important to a lot of women.0 -
I'd wait until your weight has settled at least a year.
I'm much older than you (54 next week), big busted (DD now), and have nursed two kids. Yes, when I lost 30 pounds they looked much better in a bra, but droopier (not bad, but not what I wanted). But then they tightened (and lifted) up. Just like every other part of my body has shifted and tightened up and built new muscle, so have they.
They look better now than they did when I was in my 20's. I have pictures to prove it
Wait. Do your research. Do some lifting! And then see what you think. You may be gorgeous.
Frankly, at this age I wish I were smaller chested.0
