What staples do you always keep in your pantry?

When I shop I tend to buy the same items, but unless I comb my recipes before I shop I never seem to have the staples I need to make a variety of healthy food options. Can any of my fellow MFPs give me some ideas for items to always keep on hand so this won't be so much of a problem?

nuts-almonds and cashews mainly
peanut butter
Not in pantry, but greek yogurt, cottage cheese, grilled chicken, cheese, eggs0 -
Granola, preferably with some fiber;
Tuna (albacore only),
Almonds and pistachios,
Canned fruit (pineapple chunks mostly).
Fridge:
Fresh fruit and veggies,
Greek yogurt (not the "fruit on the bottom" type)
Almond milk
Varies from time to time, but those are the ones I always have at some point throughout the week.0 -
Chicken stock/broth
Canned beans (white, by preference)
Canned tomatoes (diced, puree, crushed, etc)
Old fashioned oats
Frozen brown rice
Frozen broccoli
Hummus
Pretzels
Dry pasta
Plain greek yogurt
Eggs
Butter
Baking supplies like flour, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, etc.
Garlic powder, dried minced onion, Montreal steak seasoning0 -
In the pantry:
Canned vegetables.
Beans, tomatoes, corn, pickles...
Canned fish.
Tuna, mackerel, herring...
Pasta, rice, grains...
In the freezer:
Frozen vegetables.
Peas, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, various vegetable mixes...
Frozen meats.
Chicken, salmon, cod, beef, pork...
In the Fridge:
Fresh vegetables
Fresh meats
Milk, cream, cheese, yogurt, butter
Eggs
Other fridge things...0 -
Multiple types of frozen veggies and frozen fruits, frozen garlic and ginger, several different nuts and seeds, cocoa powder, peanut flour, coconut flour, natural sweetener, dried fruit, different canned beans, dried lentils, dried split peas, soup or broth mix (split peas/ lentils/ pearl barley), canned tomatoes, canned pure pumpkin, canned fruit in juice, canned evaporated milk (no added sugar stuff), canned oily fish, fresh eggs, fresh root vegetables.
Then loads of flavourings/ ingredients/ marinades like mini bottles of red wine, freeze dried herbs, dried South Asian dried spice blends, East Asian herb/ spice blends in jars, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, Nandos sauce, lemon and lime juice, vegetable bouillon powder, block creamed coconut, plain tomato paste, jar red chilli in vinegar, green and red basil pesto, olive tapenade. Even tho I live alone I rarely purchase just one of anything longlife, I don't like running out and it means I don't have to remember to buy them as often.0 -
Technically, my pantry doesn't have any food in it. It's not a huge pantry and I find it works better for me to keep my mixing bowls, slow cooker, coffee maker (only used for guests), blender, etc in the pantry because the shelves make for convenient access.
However, my cabinets almost always contain:
Various spices (includes onion powder, garlic powder, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, cayanne/red pepper, lemon pepper, old bay)
Various extracts for baking (includes vanilla)
Stock/broth
Canned corn
Canned beans
Dry beans
Basmati rice
Sushi rice
Arborio rice
Spaghetti noddles
Bowtie pasta
Flour
Sugar
Brown sugar
Powdered sugar
Canned tomatoes
Old fashioned oats
Cornflake crumbs
Bread crumbs
Muffin mixes, cake mixes, brownie mixes
Icing and sprinkles
30 minute marinades
Honey
Tea bags
Canned tuna
Peanut butter
Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar
Balsamic vinegar
Seasoned rice wine vinegar
Cereals
Popcorn
Olive oil
Vegetable oil
Shortening
Soy sauce
Evaporated milk

Plus a ziplock full of peelings and odd bits of partly used veggies. When the bag gets full, this goes into the crock pot with water for a day and comes out as homemade veggie stock.

What I have around all the time;
chicken breast, sliced turkey breast, soft goat cheese, yoghurt, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, (all bran) granola, muesli, almond milk, brazil- and walnuts, frozen fruit (mainly raspberries and blueberries), fresh apples and lemons, green peas, frisian ryebread, olive oil, eggs and rice.0 -
LOL, I have 7 in my family so there is a lot of different foods.
