I did not take before pics, and I am not taking during pics, unless people really want to see them. But that's just me. When I get down to what I want, I will take some pics. I always think the camera makes me look bigger. They say the camera adds 150 pounds, or was that food.

The reason I don't take the pics is because I see myself every day and really don't see my progress as well as others. So the pictures slightly discourage me. Also shows me the stuff I don't see in the mirror.

I WISH I had taken progress pics during my weight loss. I would probably do them no more than once a month though. I would also try to do them int he same poses and the same places for comparison's sake.
  • I don't really focus on the "before-during-after" pic stuff....I always assume that I'll be taking pics no matter what, anyways, when I go out....with friends, or family....birthday parties....etc, .in the meantime, I simply make do with whatever compliment I get from people I don't see every day.
I don't notice my progress on a day to day basis, but I know I'll start to notice it eventually. I do weigh myself pretty often, though, so that's as much as I do to keep track, and I do have a full length mirror in my home. But if you obsess too much, you'll get frustrated if you don't see a difference.
Other people are more likely to notice a difference before you do.

I didn't take pics and wish I had thought to take pictures. I probably would have done it monthly. I also really wish I had taken measurements when I started and monthly there after. I did neither and only have a few before pics (because I never had my pics taken) and only one during pic. Not regretting it, it would have been fun to look at the changes though.

I took some fairly close to when I started. I plan to take some at the half way point and then when I reach goal.

i would say no more than once a month. i do it once a month and sometimes i see big changes, other months they are smaller.

ETA: nothing is better than seeing your progress in pictures. imo. it captures changes that you don't notice or see on a daily basis.

I agree, take pics. You decide how often, but definitely take pics. My only regret was not taking a few more durings. I would say once a month would be sufficient.
  • It's cool to take pictures every month to see the changes that your body makes. Your body will make changes even when it is not losing weight--if you're exercising. That will be a great motivator for you - IMHO :o)

I haven't taken any pics specifically for the purpose of displaying my weight loss. Facebook is full of Pics from the last year so I have them there and I should try to put a bunch together.

The cameras that capture my image add 250... What model are you using? It must be a slim

Every two months is when I have been updating. I am due now, though I don't feel like there is a viewable difference even though I have dropped two sizes
