WATP vs C25K

While yes, these are fairly different in a few ways...I want to get some opinions on whether I should start C to 5K now or if I should maybe wait another month and keeping doing Walk away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone.

I am also currently doing the 30 Day Shred, and am 5 days into it (so halfway to level 2).

I'm really dedicated to getting this weight off as quickly as possibly, keeping it off, and keeping up my motivation and moving forward and being ready to tone up when I reach my UGW.

So, those who have done C to 5K, what do you think about me starting while I'm early in my weight loss journey AND doing 30 Day Shred? Would you suggest it?

I'm doing a program similar to C25K. I honestly think you should do one program all the way through. Really dedicate yourself do doing one and then do the another. 3 different programs at once seems a little over zealous. Be patient complete a program. I use to do so many things at once because I would....overwhelm.... myself and I would end up not completing any of them.

Having a win on your side (finishing a program) is much more important than doing something fast. If you are really dedicated, it will take time, and you can't rush it. We are making lifestyle changes and it needs to be a lifestyle we can actually live with. Get really settled into a routine. And then slowly add other things.

I love C25K and highly recommend it. But if I were you I would finish a program, and then move/add on another. Starting a program is easy, finishing one is tough. Best of Luck!

I would highly suggest C25K to anyone. It is only 3 days a week and it's highly recommended that you only do the 3 days to give your body time to heal between runs and to prevent injury. I started 30DS when I was closer to the end of the C25K program, but that's only because I didn't realize it was free on YouTube before... C25K is to help build your endurance and 30DS is great for strength training and toning. I would do them both at the same time... switch things up for better results  Good luck!

I spent about two months walking first. I gradually increased my mileage each week before I did the C25k program. I think it made the C25k easier. That being said, the way the C25k is set up you could begin the program and if you didn't finish one of the weeks just repeat that week until you were comfortable.

Good luck with either you choose.

I'm doing both 30DS and C25K. I'm halfway through lvl 2 on 30DS and I started C25K when I started level 2 of 30DS. I definitely had to cut back how many days I exercised from 5 to 3 since I do my C25K training and then do 30DS immediately after. I like that I'm warmed up and feel more flexible which is good because lvl 2 of 30DS is much more demanding. So now I workout out MWF and in February I was going to try to increase it to 4 days per week.

I've done C25K 3 times before to condition my body for running and even at 48 odd pounds heavier than the last 3 times, I'm still able to keep up with the program. I've tried other how to run plans, but always come back to this one. It builds up the intensity at the right pace and pushes you just enough.

    Good luck!! :drinker:

I am also doing 30 DS and on L3 right now. I started C25k around midway of L2 as felt that I needed something more than just 20 mins of the shred. I do 4 days of 30 DS and 2 days of BFBM.

You should try it once to see if you can handle it or not and adjust accordingly.

Thanks for the input! I think I'll probably keep just walking, and then once I get comfortable with level 2 of 30DS I will try C25K and see how my body handles it.

I definitely am not trying to overdo it or take on too much.. If it discouraged me from working out the next day, I would for sure stop C25K and save it until 30DS was over for me. I just feel like 20 minutes isn't really as much as I want to be working out, and that WATP is getting to be just....well....boring.
