Weight Loss Goal Confusion

I'm not sure if this is where I would post....but, I keep trying to put in a weight loss goal of 2 pounds per week, it shows that this is what I put in; but then it gives me numbers and a projection based on a 1.5 pound weight loss goal. Why won't it let me make it a 2 pound loss goal? I know that 2 pounds is the maximum and not necessarily considered the best way to lose, but I wanted to try and kick off my weight loss a little faster to help motivate me and then tone it down to 1.5 or 1 pound a week.

It may be that with your TDEE it can not give you 2 lbs without dropping you below 1200 calories.

More information would be helpful here.

I don't know what other info would help? I also don't know what TDEE is? I've just started about a week ago and am still trying to feel things out. It has me at 1200 calories now with the 1.5 pounds projection, so maybe it is that.

Too ambitious weight loss goal per week.

Your body will fight you the whole way. Won't make much progress.

MFP won't let you drop below 1200 calories a day for many reasons. For example, this is pretty much the minimum to get proper nutrients, even if you are choosing really healthy foods.

Yep, MFP won't give you anything less than 1200 calories per day.
