So what is it? I have heard about it a little bit but don't know much of it. Anyone know?

If I understand what you're asking, it's when you are at or near your goal weight, and rather than trying to "lose weight" you're trying to keep your weight more or less the same but lose fat and build muscle. So to use myself as an example: I'm six feet even, I currently weight 200 pounds, and have about 25% body fat. I'm not really trying to lose much weight, and I expect that when/if I reach my goal I'll be between 190 and 200 still, but at more like 15% body fat. So I want to lose about 20 more pounds of fat, but keep it even with gaining around 10-20 pounds of muscle.0

I have been on mainteance for about 5 months and started at 156 lbs eatting high cals on workout days and low cals on rest days, so my weekly average is around 2000 cals. lift heavy weights on workout days and cardio on rest days,I have lost bf% since doing this ,went from 25% to 15 % and gained 4 -5 lbs ,m weight is around 160-162 lbs,,lifting heavy gains muscle and loses fat..I am no expert but just telling you what is working for me.I have listened to some people on here and have done a ton of research,,thanks to PU_239 for guiding me along for the most part and a friend of mine that is a personal trainer,..I would suggest doing research for yourself..google is my friend..0

That's what I was thinking of doing, eating more calories on lifting days and less on rest days (or cardio days). I've been on a deficit for a long while now. I reckon it might just be what i need to get rid of the last body fat and to gain some muscle at the same time. i have done a bit of research and people have said what you said, some say to do intermittent fasting (not something I really want to do). Has PU_239 got anything written in the forums I could read? Thanks all!0

If you're a lifter, you'd do well to look up DTP online. A gentleman by the name of Kris Gethin is the designer, and his DTP is exactly the kind of recomp you're after. It's pretty strict though. I've done it for the last 3 months, and am on a second cycle right now.0
