You're right, it's not easy. But, it can be done!! Come onn - you can do this!0

Visit your doctor and INSIST that they run a complete blood test. Sometimes we start losing certain vitamins (B, magnesium, or others) that would help with metabolism. You can still lose weight and gain your energy back!!0

I try to think of it not as it is harder to loose weight it menopause, it is just easier when you are younger! I really think it is a matter of loosing muscle as you age. As I try to concentrate on getting fitter, and less on the scale I am seeing results and feeling a lot better...it is the muscle I have been missing, not the estrogen. When you feel better you naturally do more. I have not lost a lot of weight yet, but I feel so much better...keep at it!0

Hi Sweetie...
Friend me if you like (and I don't normally offer this).
I have been so called perimenopausal for over 12 years, and not had a period for 6 years (my doc refused to call menopause because I am currently 44).. then I freakin lost 7kg (15 pounds - now currently 54.4kg - 119 pounds) and had a day of 'smearing' at the end of my BC pill that we decided I should still take just in case...and my doc reset my menopause clock (dammit I could rip her head off!!!)
I whacked a good 7 or 8 kilos on during this time from when my doc said my blood work indicated perimenopause (we were trying for another baby at that stage and we were investigating the cause of my infertility.. funnily enough though, I did fall pregnant at 34 with the baby my fertility specialist dubbed my 'menopause baby' LOL)
My diary is open to friends and I am an encouraging support person.0 -

First things first - you are not old! (you're younger than me, and I don't plan on getting old any decade soon).
I don't know what your exercise regime is, but if you don't already you might want to consider adding some strength training (assuming no medical reason why not). Also make sure you get. Good balanc of protein and healthy fats. Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs!0 -
I think I am perimenopausal and have been for the last year and a half. Doc advised she didn't do blood test and said I should just get on with it - so I have. I feel quite young but it appears to be my family genetics. I'm at the start of my weight loss journey so not sure about the effects of the menopause on weight loss, but happy to provide support so if you want to add me as friend.0
