Exercise and large boobs

Hi girls,
I'm a 19 year old girl with 28J boobs, and I'm finding it quite hard to exercise. I used to love jogging and using the cross trainer, but in the past 6 months, I've gone from being a fairly comfortable 28E to a 28J, although my weight has stayed pretty much the same, at around 125-30lbs. I ride horses wearing a Freya 'Active' bra, which is just about OK, but I'd love to be able to do some more cardio -based work. I'm really self conscious about my chest, so I'd rather exercise at home rather than at the gym.
Can anybody help? I want the endorphin rush of exercise without the pain of my boobs!!
Thanks x

Bump...I'd love some ideas as to what exercises might work for me!0

I'm also quite a chesty lady and I'm also a rider. I don't like running at all, for exactly that reason. But, I love working out at home. I've been doing the Jillian Michaels DVD's for the last couple of weeks. Believe me, it's great workouts and you are going to feel it! I've done 30 Day Shred, which I loved! Now I'm doing 6 week, 6 pack, which I enjoy, but I'm convinced that woman is trying to kill me! I wear a good sportsbra, which I also use for horseriding and it keeps the girls quite well under control.0

Invest in a really good sports bra, it will make a whole world of difference (I speak from experience! )0
-
That is quite large! have you tried wearing two bras? or wearing a bra and tight sports top?0
-
Holy Smokes. That's huge for your frAme. Your poor back. My wife doubles up on sports bras0

Hi, I'm a large cup too, so I face a similar problem. However, I do find the minimiser bra quite good, as the breasts look smaller, so therefore not as 'in your face' (so to speak) movement.
I do need to get a good sports bra though, so I'll be looking for a minimising sports one.
I quite like Zumba for this reason, as you can get your whole body moving, so it doesn't look too out of sorts.0 -
Figures, no pictures on this thread.0

Try doubling on sport bra.
Like a lighter one that as more compression as you don't want to screw up your ribs or lungs.
I'm often around trans folk and I know what doubling up or over doing it with compression shirts, especially while doing sports can ruin your rib cage.
Have you tried the Enell sports bra? A lot of big chested girls and gender non-conforming folks swear by that one.

Maybe you should start thinking reduction (just my opinion please no one bite my head off). My sister is a GG and is going in next month for her reduction because she struggles with exercise do to her back (weight from the bobos). I'm a DD and I double up, bra + sports bra...can't imagine a J eeek!0

how about swimming-working hard this way would give you endorphins without the whole gravity situation0

Honestly... buy a good bra. I'm a 32DD, I used to wear 3 sports bras and now I use moving comfort. Granted they are not sexy but they keep your stuff from bouncing around and making things hurt. They seriously work. I run and do high impact sports. They are not cheap but I have had the same 2 bras for going on 4 years now. So well worth the money in my opionion. Here is a link to the exact one that I use. (no uni-boob either since it has an underwire)

I know they can be costly, but if you have a Bravissimo store anywhere near you, I'd recommend you pop in and talk to them (if you haven't already). They specialise in underwear for us busty ladies and might have some good tips for you to try too!0

I'm a 36JJ and I Wear a very good sports bra and then a tight sports vest with built in shelf bra support under my normal t-shirt - it even copes with jumping jacks!
I recommend Bravissimo and Shock absorbers0 -
I am a FF and I wear the Freya Active Underwired or the Shock Absorber Active Multisports. I don't have to double up with anything on them, but I make sure they are a good fit, which means when they are brand new it takes longer to get in and out of them than the rest of getting changed put together. Feats of engineering they are.0

Thank you everybody for your replies. I have a good sports bra, (an underwired Freya Active) and I think I'm going to have a go at swimming with a minimiser swimsuit from Bravisimmo. I will consider a reduction when I'm older, but my doctor has told me that I have to wait until I'm 21, to make sure they've stopped growing.
Thank you everyone, and I'd be more than happy for any more suggestions!0 -
J cup? Wth!0

I second doubling up, I wear two sports bras and a vest under my teeshirt0

A girl I know plays alot of sports and has a similar problem. She has found that a sports bra doesn't quite do the job when running so she uses a large tensor bandage and wraps her chest up with it. I'm guessing this is on top of her sports bra and then wears a tight tank and tshirt. It is what she has suggested to me.0

Try looking at the Title 9 website. They have the most amazing sports bras. They probably can help0

What is the best thing I ever have done for myself? Breast Reduction Surgery. I say that without any hesitation, even having had a somewhat complicated healing process because I'm allergic to dissolvable stitches. I won't say the process was easy, because it wasn't. I have never had more pain in my life. But it was soooo worth it in the end. Plus, my health insurance paid for it.
That being said, I strongly suggest going to a good bra shop and being properly fitted for a sports bra. Buy the best one they have. If you have to, you can double them up. Be prepared to spend some real money on the bra. When you try it on, jump around and jog in place until you find something that is providing the level of support you feel you need.0 -
My sister has very large breasts and also had trouble with running and other sports and trying to 'hold them down' so to speak...
She went to a proper bra fitter and they recommended some excellent sports bras which hold everything down.
She has also taken up swimming and sea diving as she said the stain on her back from trying to run was very painful...0 -
Freya is the best brand you will find. Add a tight-fitting "figure control" tank top over a good Freya support bra and you'll be fine.0

Wow! I am a DD and I thought I was having an issue! I'd say try working out at home if it helps at first and as you lose your chest will go down! For now I'd reccommend a sports bra and a reg bra!0

Ah bless. I remember being a DD. I was about 14 at the time.... My back size goes down with my weight but not cup size. When I lost weight once before, someone asked me if my bust had got bigger...0 -
My size is very close to yours. Always buy a bra with an underwire. Nordstroms has amazing bras and now I almost exclusively buy from them. Also, 'Linda the Bra Lady' (google it) has great bathing suits and bras in all sizes.
I also find that the elliptical, stationary bike and rowing machines are great for exercise without high-impact. And I think you should go to the gym - I do and I don't give a *kitten* about what anyone else thinks. I just put on my music and do it!0 -
Thank you everybody for your replies0

I'm 34f. Cannot recommend the shock absorber range highly enough.
Not a single jiggle ever, even when running.
They come in different levels of support for different sports so if you go for the highest level running bra you should be fine.0
