NSV Today

I am an emotional eater. Always have been. Growing up, when something bad happened, every one wanted to feed you. So I grew up this way. Today I got bad news from back home. The kind of news that hurts so bad you can't breath. First thing I did was hit the vending machine in the company break room. Bought a king size Hershey with almonds and a king size Kit Kat. I sat down with them at my desk and happened to look at my computer. I had MFP still up. I looked in the little mirror I keep on my wall and told myself I didn't need this junk. I was stronger than this.

I threw the candy, unopened into the trash and went for a walk. I walked down 18 flights of stairs, around the lobby and back to my desk. While my heart still hurts, it hurts just a little bit less.

Very well done...it's a tough thing to not rely on food to get you through the tough times. That's how I ended up where I am....
Good for you, now hopefully you can go home tonight and do the same thing.

    Non-Scale Victory

Bump just puts it in your "My Topics" so you can follow it.

Great! Those automatic responses are some of the toughest things to change in life. It can be done, though - and you are doing it!

It takes all you've got to take a step like this. I haven't been able to muster it myself just yet, so please consider it a giant victory on your part. I am very sorry for your loss.
