When to begin strength training and question about calories

Hello everyone!

I have lost almost 23 pounds (going from 180.2 to 157.6). At what point should I begin lifting. When I get to goal weight of 125 or now? Also I'm set to eat 1200 calories a day. I usually go over this since I burn between 600-1200 a day in exercise. Should I increase my calorie goal or eat more of my exercise points. I'm appreciate any information anyone has to offer.

Thanks.

I would definitely say start lifting now, and yeah, just eat back more of your exercise calories.

You should of started lifting yesterday... and lift HEAVY weights.

Lifting heavy weights combined with proper diet will allow you to build muscle which in turns tighens the body and helps burn more fat.

Eat close to maintaince/surplus and lift heavy weights. Do a few bulk and cut cycles to build muscle and lower fat.

If you are going to lift don't pay attention to the scale... measurements will show your real progress.

  • Lift now!!!! Being STRONG ROCKS!
  • I agree. It's never to early to incorporate strength training. Your best side effect should be more muscle tone and inches lost.
