Vinyasa Yoga

Hello,
I just had a baby 4 months ago and trying to quickly get back to my pre-baby weight. My goal is to wear a bikini for the first time since I was 13 by this summer (ah the dream!
). I never did yoga before but during pregnancy, it came with high recommendation so I tried prenatal yoga and it felt so good. I was reading about types of yoga and liked the appeal of vinyasa since it also burns a lot of calories. Has anyone done this? Would you recommend it for a newbie? I have been in love with the Core Fusion series but I didn't know if there would be much difference.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE vinyasa yoga. It is a TOTAL body work out. After the 60-90 minute classes I go to, I am drenched in sweat yet totally at peace. Doing this type of yoga along with my Advocare is what made me get back in to my prepregnany jeans 4 months after my second baby was born.
Hope this helps!!!!0 -
It does!! Thank you so much! Are there any vinyasa videos that come recommended?0

i dont know about videos, but in my opinion there is no substitute for a good class. the variety and personalization available from a good instructor there with you and forming some sense of community are priceless.
I'm beginning to feel like some sort of corporate shill from how much i praise this company, but if there are any CorePower Yoga studios near you i cant recommend them enough! nice variety of classes in a hot/power fusion, unheated and heated vinyasa, and sculpt(vinyasa with wieghts and an extra emphasis on cardio). their approach is a really good one, very clear instruction, and they try to help foster a sense of community which i enjoy
regardless, i recommend finding a studio with some quality instructors0 -
I do it and love it! It's faster than regular yoga, but not so fast that a beginner couldn't keep up. It's cardio in that it gets your heart rate up, and strength because it forces you to support your own body weight. Basically, it's a win/win!0
