Clapton's in The Beatles' White My Guitar Gently Weeps! It's a very understated guitar solo, but I think it's beautiful!

I am not a guitar aficionado, but I really enjoy:

    Clapton: White Room
Hendrix: All Along the Watch Tower
Blue Oyster Cult: Don't Fear the Reaper (more cowbell!)
The Edge (U2): Where the Streets Have no Name
    Heart: Crazy on You

    Good (tough) question
    These come to mind immediately
    1. The short solo Let It Be, Beatles LP version (only)
    2. Neil Young Like a Hurricane
    3. Frampton Comes Alive- Show Me the Way (yes I know it got too much airplay in the 70's but it is still good)

I have seen Clapton quoted as saying Prince is the best guitar player he's ever seen. Here is an example.

well guitar solos Ive seen a few, I was a tour mgr. for major rock acts in the late 60's & early 70's, Guys i toured with would be Amboy Dukes (Ted Nugent) song Baby Please dont go, always got the house excited. Jimi Hendrix purple haze, awed the crowd. there many other solos that I love, I'm no authority but ive sure heard alot great artists from the side of the stage.

Absolutely favorite was when my husband and I went and saw Slash at The Riveria in Chicago in 2009. Now I always loved him, but to actually be standing right infront of him and witnessing first hand his amazing talent was like no other.
