I work out early in the morning. If I do, I have more time in the evening to spend with family/friends or to do work. And I find working out early in the morning quite relaxing and peaceful - it's the only time of day when no one is expecting anything from you (mainly because they're all still in bed :P)0

Get up earlier0

YOU MAKE TIME. GET UP EARLIER OR STAY UP LATER. MAKE IT A PRIORITY.
WHY ARE WE YELLING?0 -
Either shorter workouts (ie Jillian Micheals 30 day shred) or combine exercise with family - Bike Rides, Just Dance on Wii etc (I don't have children BTW but I have two jobs & am doing my Masters so time is also a big issue for me) xx0

currently balance, social life (friends, boyfriend, family and extended family - have a very close extended family) with final exams and revision, weight loss, studying and me time.
How do I balance...say this weekend I'm seeing my bf twice for dinner and a late night walk (kill two birds with one stone), then social life on day next weekend, inbetween that time I've got to revise, do some exams, continue studying for summer exams...me time is usually now a workout. also I find lots of 5minute exercises throughout the day help.
it all gets imbalanced when I go to bed at 3am to wake up at 7am (that's never good)...just try fit it all in, if it becomes unhealthy I usually go for a jog, clear my head out and come up with the sleep more and see everyone else later, they'll survive a few weeks without my company ! phaha. I call it becoming selfish for the right reasons0 -
Stop shouting, for starters...0

I have 7 children and I homeschool. I do my workouts after they go to bed. I also try to fit in walks with them when the weather permits. Most days I would rather rest at the end of the day, but I want to be fit and healthy more than I want to rest. I would also second the shorter workouts idea. I was doing p90x for awhile, but it takes up too much of the evening so I am going back to JM 30DS and ones like that.0

I get up before my family does - squeezing in a 30 minute workout is doable and feels great afterward. Makes my whole day.0

Break up your work outs. If you can squeeze in 30 minutes here, and then another 30 there do it that way.0

I get up before many in my neighbourhood are up and I'm out running to psyche myself - setting my pace for the day. I also consciously choose to claim my evenings for myself, to unwind ie run or walk [depending], to simply let loose [meditatively releasing the day's volume of -ves] and to simply be all about me. IF and when an evening demands I miss out on my usual evening - I attend - get back home - change -> And I'm out the door for a minimum of stride-runs or sprint-runs - for a min of 30 mins or more if I'm able - which I much prefer.0 -
I know it's already been said, but definitely get up before everyone else wakes up in the morning and work out. It is beneficial in so many ways for me! I get to actually be alone for a little bit each day. I feel much better throughout the day (happier, more energy, etc) and it's not hanging over my head all day waiting for me to get it done. I found when I worked out in the evening, something came up at least once a week that prevented a workout ( I have 4 kids, so it happens). Good luck, it is definitely a struggle but you HAVE to make it a priority!
Like the doc on the Biggest Loser said the other night.....If you had cancer would you take time out of your day for treatment to save your life??0 -

Its rough at first, but doesn't take long for it to become habit. You get started before your brain knows what you're doing. I've actually found that I like that early morning workout - today I knew I'd have a window of opportunity to workout about mid-morning, so I slept in a little and worked out after hubby went to a meeting. It was almost harder than getting it done super early, and definitely slowed my whole day down a bit.0

I'm so not a morning person, yet I get up early to workout. Lap swim at most pools are at oh dark thirty, and I love to swim. Like someone else said, you don't have people asking you to do things if you are working out while they are still asleep. The big benefit in addition to getting your workout in is that the ENDORPHINS will carry you through the day in such a good mood people will thing you are the happiest person alive.0
