Hi, my name is Jeff and I am starting Day 3. I am diabetic and really need to lose about 50 pounds to be at a healthy weight. I have previously tried creating my own fitness/meal tracker in Excel. It worked okay but it was very time consuming. I can't begin to tell you how much time I spent looking up calories, fat grams, etc. for every meal that i would eat. After a while it would just be too much work and I would give up.

myfitnesspal is the best thing that I have ever seen for tracking meals and exercise. It accomplishes everything that I was trying to do and more. It's really nice that I can access it on my iPod touch as well as from my computer. I'm excited to use this and look forward to seeing less of myself in the mirror.

  • Welcome to MFP. My story was similar to yours. I have used excel and another program that work well but this is the best program that I have used by far and I like that you can have access anywhere. Good luck with your goals.
