Preggo and MFPing it

I have a tendency to gain ALOT of weight while pregnant... It probably doesn't help that my motto becomes "well I'm going to get fat anyway!". I had no problem dropping the weight when I really wanted to after my first two, but I'll have three 3and under by the end of July and I don't know where I'll get the time or energy.... I lost 50+ after my son w/MFP And at almost 13 weeks I've already gained at least 10lbs... I started logging again today and plan to get a little more active. Looking for other preggo MFPers to friend and give/get support!

First off, congratulations!! I'm not pregnant right now but I hope to be this summer. I understand where you're coming from with not wanting to gain too much weight with pregnancy. It's a big fear of mine. With my son I gained 40 lbs. during my pregnancy and my doctor was always on my case about it. It didn't help that I was already 30 lbs. overweight due to having to go off migraine medication.

I would say that you just need to do the best you can. Yes, it's true they say according to your height and weight that you should only gain "x" number of lbs. during pregnancy but not all women are going to fall into their neat little categories. Just try to eat healthy foods and try to keep your sugar at or below 30 grams per day (I'm working with a personal trainer and this is what she said for me to do. When I started having to be under that 30 grams, it made me realize how much sugar I had really been consuming before.) Also, if you have a bad day, just acknowledge it, re-commit and then focus on the next day or week.

As far as exercise, do you have a gaming console like a Wii or Kinect? They have fun exercise DVDs with those like Dance Central and Zumba. If you don't have one, maybe try to buy a couple exercise DVDs that you could do from home. Strength training is also very important both if you're trying to lose or maintain weight. I know they make workout DVDs that are more geared toward that as well. Good luck!!
