Good morning,
I got out for my 5mile run this morning. I struggled a little during my run.
I had wicked heartburn last night and I still felt it this morning while running. Not a good feeling. lol
Have a great run everyone!!

Good Morning Everyone!
M - hope you are feeling better today! sorry, that nastiness upset your run!
I need to do a little self-praising today *doing the happy dance* - i broke through my plateau FINALLY!
I have dropped another 1lb after a three week plateau! Thank goodness! All that German beer was good for the diet I guess!! I can only attibute it to the whole zig-zag calorie - shock the body theories!
Feel great this am after my spinning class last night. Tonight is easy run for 5 miles and then body pump class.
My special treat to myself for all the hardwork and finally hitting the 10lb mark is a new IPod! My was stolen last year and I have been trying to get by without it but I just cannot do it anymore. I have been faithful to my exercise program since Jan 1 and I think that deserves a treat! :flowerforyou:
Have a great day everyone!

great job on losing that lb. keep up the good work.:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:0

I usually run on Thursdays, but we are having 30 mph wind with 50 mph gusts, not the greatest running conditions. I went to spinning instead. Then tonight I'm going to TurboKickboxing, bootcamp and PiYo. Have a great day everyone0

I got my second work out of week 4 (Couch to 5K) in last night. It seemed harder than Monday night, but it may be because it was still 80 degrees at 6:30pm, sunny and sticky. But, I did it. I ran all my minutes and made it through. Hoping to get workout 3 in tomorrow morning, Saturday morning at the latest. I told my husband that I was starting to like running, and those were words I never thought would come out of my mouth. But I feel powerful and good about myself while running. Hmmm, must be those endorphins kicking in.... :laugh:0

WTG ladies!!
Margie, how exciting for you and yes(!) running is very addicting!! :drinker:
Raining like crazy here so will try & drag my carcass out of bed early tomorrow morning! Enjoy the day! :flowerforyou:0 -

I wanted to run this morning but after the alarm went off I made the mistake of laying back down on the bed. :grumble:
Tomorrow is another day. Great job to everyone who already ran or is planning on running today. This morning was my oppertunity and I missed so I wont be going out at all today. Bummer.0 -
Good morning!
Congratulations to everyone who ran, plans to run, or even thought about running today.
I ran the slowest 4 miles this morning. We are in the middle of a heat wave. With the heat index, it was 89 degrees, sunny, and HUMID at 8:30 am. I got a tan through my white t-shirt.(my sports bra is outlined on my skin)
Instead of doing my 5 mile speed workourt, I decided to be safe and do an easy 4 miles of running with walking all of the hills on my route. I never noticed how many hills there were until today. It took me over 50 minutes to finish!
Enjoy the day

Just a question for you runners...
Since I started running (about 6 wks agos) I not only have pain in my knees but also in my elbows and finger joints. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to prevent it other than painkillers?
I bought really good running shoes and I run on dirt. Every time I run the pain gets worse though. I've been training for a 5k in July and I really don't want to quit!0 -

I've never heard of that.... I wonder if it's because you're holding your arms at a angle you're not used to?? Is there a running store nearby where you can get some advice?0 -
Woo Hoo, I have to toot my horn, although it isn't as fast as some of you I ran 5 miles in an hour and I feel great and sick all at the same time! lol0

Are you clenching your hands when you run? I have never heard of that either. I know when I started running my knees hurt. I bought some osteo bi flex and that worked great. By the second day my knees felt better and haven't hurt too much.0 -

Congrats to all of you who have already gone today and those who plan to go. It feels like a sauna when you step outside here. My daughter had field day today and now we're all pooped. I haven't been feeling 100% today, so we'll see where tomorrow takes me.
Happy trails everybody.:flowerforyou:0 -

Tell your hubby you need to move to CO so we can run together. It's cooler here! :drinker: I'm sure he won't mind. :laugh:0 -
Ok, so before I decided to admit I was thinking about a halfer, I got to 6.25 (10k). For the record that took me 6 months. Recently though it has been more natural and with that comfort came the idea of, “Wait a minute I could do 12 of these if I wanted!”
It is suggested you can run 3miles to start training.
The training is 12 weeks pre marathon. I have attached the link. I am going to start training with this program on the 23rd. If anyone ants to train with me and we can check in I would love it.

I’m a firm believer in strength in numbers.
If anyone wants to take a trip to Chicago and run the ½ you could stay with me too!0 -

I haven't signed up yet, but my plan is to run a 1/2 marathon at the end of July. I know how you feel about being nervous because a few years back my daughter talked me into walking/jogging a marathon with her and I really wasn't sure I could do it. I'd never done anything like that before. The training was a lot harder than the actual marathon. This time I'm not really nervous because I know I can finish it. I figure even if I have to walk part of it I could do it. My goal this time is to jog the whole thing. I've been jogging about 5 times a week and going anywhere from 4 to 10 miles so far. If I could do it, anybody can (truly.) You'll be fine. Just deciding to do it is really the hardest part. Good luck. I'll be cheering for you!:drinker:0 -
I started training for a 10miler today that is in August. It is one of the hardest courses in the area so I really need to work hard! I love Hal's programs and I am going to us his as well as Galloway's programs to get ready.
I will definitely be a training buddy!! Let's post our weekly training schedules and keep track of miles during the week!!0
