I also (mostly) stay at home with two little ones and am nursing my son. I currently work 8 hours a week. I just started the Turbo Fire prep program again, I finished it back in September, but 2 weeks into the regular schedule my supply tanked so I had to take a break. Feel free to add me!

I definitely remember the sitting and nursing a lot, but I also remember a lot of walking around the house and yard, patting baby on the back and bouncing slightly (great workout for the arms), trying to soothe crying babies.

And, yes, take pictures. I don't have any of me at my worst except for 1.

The encouragement is wonderful, the recipes are fab, and overall, I am pleased with the application that I can run from my iPhone. Feel free to add me....mblmani is my user.

  • Hi I am in the same boat. It has been a journey getting to this point and its going to be an even harder journey to lose the weight. I started this about 6 months ago off and on but was never serious. At Christmas my granddad wanted to take pictures of the family and I kept trying to run from the camera. I realized just how much weight I had gained. That was my drawing point. I said I'm DONE! I started being serious 2 weeks ago at 307 and as of Friday, I weigh 299. This can be done!!! We can do this together. I will send you a request.

I am also trying to restart this journey. I am less than 5 ft tall and so I have a long way to go. I need to lose half of my body weight and I am planning to finally stick to it. I am 58 years old and if I want to continue to live, I need to succeed this time. So however many times I fall I will get back on the treadmill. I am here for you and I hope you will support me too.
  • Hi Julie,

Keep in mind that it will probably take you a while to assemble the right mix MFPals that work for you - and for them. I would give it at least 6 months with trial and error. Some people have trouble removing friends. IMO, don't be afraid to drop those who fail to log in for long periods of time or who just aren't ready to commit. I've had friends that after 6 months are still losing the same two pounds. Not helpful to you. Keep searching when you drop people. Avoid "collectors" who think this is Facebook and they need hundreds of friends. Adding friends is easy. Losing weight is hard. With a little experience you will be able to spot them.

Don't get discouraged with all the trial and error. Others may disagree but these things have been my experience after a year here.

    Good luck on your journey!

In a few days will be my one year on here, I havent logged my food everyday but i log in every day. yes i have missed a day or 2 before. So my day count is not accurate. I know the day I started and thats what is important to me. I gave up soda in febuary I belive. I tried drinking the diet stuff but it wasnt the same and wasnt really doing me any good
. I learned to drink water when i ate. The one thing i learned is being over 300 lbs you love food. I love food. I also love watching the numbers fall. The holidays did put me in a slump , Im not losing as well. Im not beating myself up, I know i can do it. I think my best tool, was portion control. Id eat what i liked or wanted .Id watch the amount of calories in the item decide if i really needed it.I love pretzels. I count out 9 like the bag says and thats all i eat. I also learned that light isnt always better and real is sometimes best. light sour cream is just a few calories less than regular. Since i no longer have sour cream with a lil potatoe. It tastes better, even if its just a table spoon. I have n not done any real excersise. I just try to move more than i did. You have a small child, put on some music and dance with them, dance alone, Park farther away in the grocery store, walk a store, small changes bring changes. last year i was using a cart that you ride on to shop.I took it one store trip at a time , now i dont use one. These suggestions are soley mine, not factul based on data based on any diet, so nay sayers have your fun, I do what works for me, take one day at a time one pound at a time.If you fall off today get back tommarrow. Always rember your husband loves you today just as you are,Do this for you.Add me if you like I started at 310, 246 now.. good luck take your time

hey, sending a friend request to you. I first started using this site a few years ago, but I didn't have any friends on here so I stopped tracking my food intake. Now that I have friends cheering me on and showing that support, I was able to lose 46 lbs and I'm still going strong. Good luck to you on your weight loss journey.
  • Perfect advice....

    Hello Julie
I have just been on this site for just over a week and meet such great people. I have always been overweight all my life. I lost 90lbs and then everything fell apart...I gain back 20lbs and knew I was in trouble. All my old habits came back. My goal is to lose 80lbs. I would be happy to be added to your friends list.
    Good Luck
    You can do it

Thanks for the information. This is a life style cahnge for me so I am in it for good. It takes some time getting used to where to post things and reach out to others. So if there are any challenges out there I'm in. I have heard about the FITBIT. Does anyone have and use it?

Hello, you can add me... best of Luck....
  • Hello everyone. I'm also searching for a board to join. My highest weight was around 221lbs. I managed to lose quite a big over the past few years. However, this last year I put on nearly 20 pounds of that. I have an ultimate weight loss goal of around 36 pounds. I really need a good support team.

I've read through some of these posts and you all are absolutely inspiring!
