Weight Lifting For Beginners

I'm sure there have been many threads about this, but I am really interested in adding weight lifting into my regular fitness routine. The problem is I have no idea where to start. I am wondering what some of the best lifts are to get started, pointers/tips for beginners, etc.! Any help is much appreciated!

Starting out I used the Body for Life exercise plan the book had photos on how to do each exercise. I did my own eating plan. Its a great way to get you familiar with weights how heavy you can lift and what areas each muscle group covers cause lets face it, it can get confusing at times.
I had great results. Lost 20 kilos and lots of inches.0
