when does the "calorie clock" restart?

I know it doesn't strictly have to be the same every day. But this is a weird (ish) situation.

So at 3 AM, earlier this morning, I was still awake, doing work. And then I had kind of a giant snack. (I mean like, almost 1000 calories. This put me at like 1200 over my goal...I know, this is so undisciplined haha) And I didn't go to bed until 5 AM. (I know - this is terrible for health...)

So in between when I got up today (like 10 AM) and now (10 PM) my net calories is under 1000.

Will I go into starvation mode if I don't eat more? I mean, if I ended up at like, almost 3000 total yesterday - and technically, a 1000 of them were from 3 AM this morning - my body shouldn't technically be "starved", right? Like I don't feel hungry or anything...

But my main concern is, I'm technically a few pounds underweight, so I'm worried if my body's "calorie clock" will cause me to go into starvation if I don't eat more today.

Don't overthink this. Your body doesn't tell time.

Log the food on the actual day you eat it, if you want.

If you are underweight, you need to eat first and worry about it later - or never.

Don't worry about times and meals etc.

i agree, dont over think it, lol... i start freaking out about little details like this and it's not worth it. Generally i record things as from wake - sleep. So I don't go from 12am-12pm because I'm often awake after midnight.

sometimes with a situation like yours where it's literally teeter-tottering between deciding which day to add it to, I add half the calories to both days, and that way I'm likely still okay for the day before and it leaves enough calories for the next day.

    hope that makes sense.

Thanks guys! For now I'm probably just going to count 3AM as "today" just since I went way over, haha.
