Second time lucky?

Hello everyone!
My name is Anu, I live in the UK. I joined MFP cos I was determined to actually do something about my weight finally. For the past couple of years I've been on the pill, and it was only after I got off it that I realised how huge my appetite had become, and therefore how much weight I gained. Christmas 2011 I was 14 kgs lesser than I am now, and it's hard to believe how easy it was to just go with the flow and let myself get this way. I'm 23 years old and I'm getting married in less than 6 months. I know I won't have reached anything like my ideal weight in that time, but I hope to be well on my way of getting there. I want to start my married life healthy, with the right attitude to food and exercise.
It's easy to lie to myself and have a little treat, or a big one, promising to make it up later, but it's never going to happen if I'm not determined. My goals are:
* Become healthy, for the first time!
* Go into a shop and come out happy that there were so many things that fit me perfectly
* Look GREAT on my wedding day (It's not a big wedding, and I won't be wearing a gown fit for a princess, but I definitely want to feel special on the day)
Ideally, I would like to lose 20-25 kgs (45-55 lbs) by the end of May, which is not long away (as my first goal. My ultimate goal is to lose 30-35 kgs, 70-80 lbs). It means I really need to get stuck in it.. NOW! I would love to make some friends on here who can help support me through this journey. I'm going to make my food log public so that I am accountable to someone. I don't follow a strict diet at the minute or do much to eat healthy, I hope this changes. Another thing to take into account is that I work night shifts a few nights a week and end up eating only one meal that day, or two. I will try to be better at this.
If you have a similar goals to reach, or just need a new friend who can help support you and that you can support, please do send me a request and let's have a chat!
Time to stop rambling I think!
Cheers!

I joined back in March of last year but fell off the wagon for over 6mo. I've been back less than a wk and am slowly trying to rebuild what I had accomplished in the time I was on here the first time. My overall goal is to lose over 100 lbs. I have some relearning to do as far as eating healthy, but every day is a learning experience and a chance for change. We only fail when we give up on ourselves. Even if we don't do "perfect" one day there is always the next day to make improvement. As long as we keep striving to get where we want to be then we are a success.0

Very true. Can't say I did much when I was on here the first time. I added a few people but didn't talk to anyone much and didn't really have any support. All my family is back home in India and cos I now work night shifts, I hardly ever see my friends, so I don't get much active, everyday support which I feel is very integral to me persevering. Hopefully, it will be different this time around. I see some people on here who have it completely together, very well balanced meals, lots of water, lots of exercise and I know I won't be anywhere close to that to start with, but over time, I hope to learn more about food and to use my passion for food to cook healthier meals which will help me stay on the right track.0
