Do you log general things, eg, walking in the mall shopping? I feel like that isn't really exercising and it's a general thing one would do not daily but in general. I log in only that I sweat with. I can walk the dog alone and put on a good sweat, but if I walk the dog with the famjam, its a slow pace, stopping, yelling at the kids to catch up, picking up poop etc..lol not really, exercise.
What are your thoughts?

No, I wouldn't log walking in a mall, walking the dog (unless its mile +), cleaning the house, cooking dinner, etc..

I only log cardio that I do in the gym (I do weight training also but I don't log the calories burned). Sure on some days I walk or whatever more than other days, but to me it's not enough to really make a difference and warrant logging. If I wanted that level of accuracy, I would probably get something like a FitBit.

If it is something out of the ordinary for me then I log it.

No. I only log exercise that has been performed where my heart rate was above 120 for at least 30 full minutes

I log walking in the mall because I rarely shop at the mall and when I do its for 3 plus hours. The mall I go to is 2 miles. Most of the time I go to one store at one end of the mall and walk to another wayyyyy over on the other side. So yes in that case I log it as walking. Regular shopping just going from the car to a store I don't log.
  • thanks everyone!
I think I will just log in my cardio at the gym :) I have four kids and always running about, never lost weight running with the kids so I guess my body is just "used" to that activity..lol
