Meaning, I could go in my garage and record cats fighting in my backyard mix it with my 3 year old niece singing row, row, row your boat, add a beat and it would still be REAL music.

Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's not music and just because you have a different taste in music than someone else doesn't mean that you're any better than them.

Think about it this way. I LOVE brussels sprouts but my sister finds them to be disgusting. Does that mean that Brussels sprouts are not "REAL" food and I am dumb for liking them?

*end rant*

This. I like a wide variety of music and I respect the tastes of others. You like what you like. I ain't gunna knock it. I might roll my eyes a few times, but I tend to let people be.

For me, the sign of real musical maturity and education is the ability of have an eclectic ear. Beautiful music comes from many different genres and sounds.

One of the most memorable experiences I've had with this show was when I went to see a production of it and the entire second act, all you could hear throughout the entire audience was sniffling. I don't think there was a single dry eye. It's impossible for me to not cry sometimes even just listening to it.
