I'm not really a gym person and I much prefer long walks in the countryside then go on the tread mill.I always try and walk my dog for an hour a day(He gets tired easy haha) .I'm concerned tho because I know I could be doing alot more.I do like swimming so I should probably start doing that to.Did anyone else have any ideas? I have a Wii so I could go on things like just dance etc X

Hi Kath1391 I am new to this site but in September I started the Couch 2 5k program where you learn to run for 30min or 5k in nine weeks, and at 73 I did and I still go out weather permitted. http://www.nhs.uk/LiveWell/c25k/Pages/couch-to-5k.aspx This is the link Good luck Pat

I have used Kettlebells in the past and always fell off the wagon to stay on a exercise routine. But I feel that the Kettlebell is one of the best, if not the best, at home solution. I recently started my diet and workout routine on January 3rd and I have lost around 4 pounds. A good solid 4 pounds in a week and half. I do a 20-30min workout Monday, Wednesday, Friday. That is all it takes. And just eat healthy. They are fun, they are tough, and they will get anyone into shape. They were proven to work and so far they are working for me. http://www.acefitness.org/getfit/studies/kettlebells012010.pdf
