I have recently swapped to the raw diet and noticed my sugar intake is way up but my sodium is way down. I figured it was from natural sources so i should be fine right? Been attempting to stay above 1200 calories a day at the very least but if i wake up late or sleep in i am lucky to hit 900 not good i know! Just wondering what i could do to perk myself back up.

How long have you been doing the raw diet and how long have you felt drained?0
-
It is from not eating enough0
-
Its been a little over a week and for about 4 days maybe 50
-
eat more.0

Yes i am breeter sure of that. I feel like i am constantly struggling to get them in0 -
If a diet makes you feel like crap don't do it. Is there a medical reason you need to restrict sodium?0

Brush your teeth0

Try adding some energy dense raw foods...seeds, soy nuts, almonds, cashews.
At your weight you need to be well above 900 calories. Eat your calorie minimum and add in exercise.0 -
Meeper you really need to eat more. You need to balance your carb and fat. I get to feeling light headed and I know it's my body telling me I need to eat a little something. Everyone had different diet needs so maybe this diet your on isn't working with your body.0

I would suggest a big ol' hunk of sashimi-grade tuna.0

For the whole eating under a 1000 calories, look...you are going to do what you want but check out the link below at some of the stories of people who thought it was okay (especially because they weren't "feeling" hungry a lot of times) but ended up regretting it. Yes, this is can all be overwhelming and complicated , but you are more than welcome to ask questions on the post.
One of the things that I have found that has been one of the best methods for me to get fit is to understand fitness. To understand where all these figures, etc come from.
The good thing is once you get the hang of it - it is something you'll be aware of constantly and you'll get a better understanding about your eating habits.
So I HIGHLY suggest making the effort to take every chance to educate yourself. Even if you don't end up going with any of these methods, calculations, etc - at least you understand what they are, where others are coming from, and maybe they will still be able to help you figure out what is best for you.0 -
Eat some delicious CARBS.0

Too much sugar is detrimental to me. Not just energy, but my entire health. It doesn't matter if the sugar is "natural", it's still sugar.
For my health, I eat a high fat, moderate protein, low carb eating plan. I still eat lots of veggies. I eat berries occasionally, and other fruit only rarely. No fruit isn't "bad" but it isn't something that I can eat in large amounts if I want to stay feeling great.
Edit: Also, as other people have said, it's really important to eat enough. No eating plan in the world works if you are not getting adequate nutrition.0 -

I looked at your diary and you are WAY under eating!! And you're not tracking your protein at all?! I suspect you are way under in that as well. Here's the thing when you decide to go to a specific 'diet' ..in your case raw diet. People tend to restrict themselves so much! I saw no meat or diary (I don't know maybe that's part of the raw diet thing)?! A handful of leaves and a few nuts is not sufficient. Ask yourself 'why the raw diet'? Is it in the name of weight loss? Does it really fit you're lifestyle? If so...you need to do way more research on it and introduce more 'raw foods' into your current diet before you fall over from starvation. Maybe it's not your thing...and you should just practice moderation and eat foods you enjoy. In the end you need to find something sustainable and that will fit into your lifestyle.0 -
Increase your calories.0
-
BTW - don't worry about going over on the sugar..MFP has it set so low a piece of fruit can put you over.0

I dont eat meat and allergic to most dairy so idk0 -
How do you make raw hummus and chocolate smoothies? And what the heck is "Moose Munch"? Is that some type of raw grass or grain?
In looking at the past few days of your diary you simply aren't eating enough calories. And, though you don't track it, it doesn't look like you are getting enough protein either. No wonder you are tired.
Honestly, I'd expect a lot more vegetables on a raw diet. Eat!0 -

Moose munch is like a mix thing forgot my snack so grabbed a handful was not happy with myself as to hummus and the smoothies i use raw ingrediants like raw chocolate not sweetened and cook the chickpeas cause that would just be ekky0 -

Then it looks like you already have some restrictions placed on your diet - vegartarian/ vegan? And now on a raw diet. You should probably speak to a dietician. You're not eating enough, you're not getting enough protein. Is your goal good health?0 -
Several things. You probably are going through sugar crashes, especially if you're eating more fruits than veggies.
Your calories are very low also, calories = energy, low calories = low energy.
If you can't sustain on just the fruit/veggies, I'd say start adding things like nuts, and some other type of proteins like fish.
But def. get more calories in you, I'm sure that'll help for the most part!!0 -
Yup good health is the goal0

Fish is a good idea my hubby suggested low carbs might be part of the problem0 -
Sugar is great for a boost of energy. So is caffeine, ginseng, and a variety of other stimulants. You know what? So is eating a nutritional, well-balanced diet. :flowerforyou:0
