What would be the best strength training exercises for someone who is just staring out? Tried planks but I guess I'm not ready for that.

don't worry that you can't do it all right now. do as much as you can and each day try to do more than you did the last time. You'll get there.0 -
You are ready for planks. Your mind is not ready to accept your body wont do what you want it to do. Hold a plank 20 seconds. A few times this week and by the end of next week I bet you increase to 25 seconds. And the 30 seconds and so on. Don't wait until you think you are ready because you never will be. You have to just start.0

Just starting out and looking for a beginner workout? Well everyone has given great advice, but without knowing your goals, workout availability, etc. it is hard to say. I would go on any one of the sites listed below (or there is about a zillion others) and find what fits your schedule and goals the best and just do it one day, one workout at a time. Remember, this is a fitness lifestyle you are starting, not a fad diet or a 30 day routine for the gym. Take your time and enjoy the journey!
Wishing you much success in reaching and achieving all of your fitness goals!0 -
Thanks everyone0

I tried and could only do 7 seconds but I am trying to train my body to do it. I think I need to try step ups to strengthen my legs0
