I eat back mine normally but I was in your situation last week where I burned about 900 calories and I found it impossible to eat them all back. I don’t think it’s a good idea to force yourself to eat just to eat them back if you are genuinely full. Eating when you are not hungry is not a good habit to get into! The way I see it, the calories burnt is only approximate and I am bound to make mistakes when logging and weighing food and there are going to be days when I go over my calorie allowance so I don’t sweat about stuff like this. If you are hungry then I would eat them but if not then don’t worry. Being under for one day isn’t going to do you any harm.0

I don't!!-) What i burn is an added bonus for me, my last cycle ride i estimated 12-1300 calories plus me doing a manual job on my feet 9 hrs a day , no way i could possibly eat the calories i burn0

It would depend on how many total calories you've eaten and how sure you are of the accuracy of your burned calories, I think. If you are burning that many calories, then you need to fuel that exercise. If you are so full you can't eat anymore, then you might need to look at your macros. Are you getting enough fat? Fat has more than twice as many calories as other carbs and protein so eating low fat can make it hard to get enough. Choose foods that are nutrient dense and contain good fats such as seeds, nuts, avocado, oily fish, cooking with vegetable oils.
But if you are getting a good balance of micro and macro nutrients, are not eating low calorie and really aren't hungry, then you probably don't need to worry about it. Especially if we are talking only about one day.0 -
Sometimes what I end up doing with a big burn is to let it roll over to the next day because I'm typically more hungry then. Remember your body doesn't reset itself at midnight. If you go under a few hundred calories one day and over a few hundred calories the next, it evens out.
Also, try to plan your food better for high activity days. Eat more calorie dense foods like lean meats, nuts, seeds, eggs, etc.0 -
It depends on how you setup your daily calorie goal. If your goal includes exercise, then no you don't as they are already accounted for. If it doesn't, then yes you do.

If doing a high volume of exercise, you need to fuel your workouts. That doesn't necessarily mean "eating them all back"--just making sure you are rebuilding glycogen reserves.
The rest of it is more of an accounting question than weight loss. By that I mean that the act of eating them back is not that meaningful--some people lose weight eating them back, some lose weight not eating them back. It's just a question of how you want to keep track of intake.0 -
Are you hungry? If so, then eat.
When I first started using this site to track I never ate back my calories and I was abolsutely starving and cranky. I lost more weight and wasnt lashing out at people when I ate my calories back.0 -

This!
I definitely figure that I underestimate my food (I don't weigh my portion sizes--good grief I have SO MANY other things to do!) and I overestimate my calorie burn. (Even if I had a HRM it isn't 100% accurate!)
So, to be on the safe side, I leave some of my exercise calories. If I'm hungry that day, I might leave two! But if not, I'm ok with leaving 200-300 at the end of the day.0 -

You do realize that this site is LOADED with people with TERRIBLE eating habits, right? Do you really think telling them to eat if they are hungry is good advice?0 -
Thanks for the advise everyone will look through it
