Need suggestions

I've been invited to lunch with an old friend Friday and she's picked a locally owned Chinese resturant. No website so I can't go on to calc calories, so what's my best options?

There are a lot of "generic" Chinese foods in the MFP food database, you could try to match them up as much as possible and "guess-timate" the amounts.

Hot and sour soup is what I would choose.

Wonton soup first - it will help fill you up
Steamed rice and then something with lots of veggies
Ask for a to go box right away and put half of your
meal in the box. Then you can't over eat too much :)

Or, if your friend is open to your eating healthy, ask if
she wants to share a dish (if you can agree on something)

One "bad" meal isn't going to kill you. Just eat 1/2 (or less) and take the rest home for meals later in the week.

Yes, this ^^ is a great starter. Choose a dish with lots of veggies, meat that is not breaded or deep fried and go easy on the rice. And don't freak out if you gain a few lbs overnight. Chinese food is typically high in sodium so you retain water after eating it, especially if you've been reducing sodium. Just drink plenty of water and it will go away as quickly as it came.
