Not eating everything logged?

How do you combat not eating everything you logged?
For example, I log my food as I am preparing it to be cooked - therefore I know the maximum I am consuming. However, I often don't finish meals and can leave anything from 1/3 to just a few mouthfuls, which can obviously have an affect on my logging (if on the larger side). I'll not know how much under my macros and calories I actually am, and I will not know what is left to consume either.
Do I just do a guesstimate based on the 'entire' figures entered? Just ignore it complete? Is there a way of working it out?

I've done the same thing and I just guess how much to take off if I didn't actually consume that much, or guess how much to add if I ate a little more than planned. I am not sure if there is another way to do it.0

You could measure what you don't eat and do the math....0

I agree with measuring what you don't eat, if you wanna get really specific. I'm way too lazy to do that and either use it as an excuse to have a glass of milk before bed, or, pretend I did eat the whole serving just to stay on the safe side with calories. Haha!0

I couldn't measure it, most things end mixed in with others and it would just be a mass of food, as opposed to identifiable foods to actually weigh.
I shall just stick to guesstimating then!0 -
Start with smaller portions? If you are regularly leaving food on your plate, then stop serving yourself so much!0
