I have been told before that machines doesn't give you the most accurate amount on the calories you burn.
I use to believe that until I started going back to my gym and they have updated most of the machines.
Yesterday my work on the elliptical read.

315 calories burned in 30 mins

Before I started I put in my weight/age which 250 pounds and 22.

Does this sound right?

Totally depends on how hard you were working, but that is in the realm of believable.

I would say that is about right. I burn about 270 calories doing 15 mins on a cross trainer.

I'd agree, while it depends on the amount of resistance you used and your average RPM, the above numbers certainly seem reasonable. I weigh in around 163 and usually burn about 250-280 in a 20 minute session of moderate-heavy resistance at 7.5 avg RPM.

If you're entering your age and weight then it's going to be pretty close. It will know how hard you're working with those parameters and can judge how many calories you're burning.
  • How can I calculate calories burned when i jump rope or jog in place?
I want to increase my workouts by doing this video off YouTube

I would be able to do just the first technique though but
I have no idea how to log it into my journal.
  • Is there any close calorie burn calculator ?
