So which one is correct?

I'm eating at a caloric deficit so this is important to me.

USDA data for baked boneless, skinless chicken thighs is 28g (1 ounce) 70 cals, 4g fat, 0g carbs, 7g protein. Kroger brand boneless, skinless chicken thighs show a 4 ounce serving is 130 cals, 7g fat, o carbs, and 18g protein. Which one is correct?

If I eat according to the Kroger data AND STAY WITHIN MY MACROS, I would be 500-1000 calories over PER DAY by the USDA data. Which one is correct? I am currently losing weight as planned. And I eat thighs just about every day.

Are you sure that you are comparing cooked amounts vs one cook and one raw?

Make sure all things are equal. If you get it off a package of meat it's most likely raw weight which is the best method of weighing meat. If you get it out of the database a) it may not be correct because those are users entries & b) check whether it states cooked or raw.
  • Neither set of data state whether it's cooked or raw. The USDA data comes from the USDA website and the Kroger data comes directly from the package.
