I wish I could kick my self in rear end!

I can do really well for a couple of days. But come the third or fourth day it's like I lose complete control! Since I quit smoking almost 7 years ago, I have found my self in awar with my appetite. No matter what I eat, how much I eat, how often I eat I feel like I am absolutely starving!!! I keep going back to square one and saying I am just going to keep trying, keep trying new things that will help. I get re-motivated and three days later my appetite becomes so unbearable that I find myself stuffing my face! Here is what I had in the past two hours:
nutrigrain strawberry cereal bar, strawberry cream cheese toaster strudel, a pack of scooby-doo fruit snacks, a turkey and cheese sandwich! That was after dinner! Which was a one cup serving of each broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage, with a 3 oz portion of roasted chicken!
I literally still feel like I am starving even after all that!
I try to stop myself from giving in by doing other things, saying that I am not hungry, or I don't want to eat anymore, drinking a whole lot of water etc... WHO ELSE HAS THIS BATTLE!? :explode:

Start your day no matter what with high protein.. That has helped me a ton.. I need to get back to it. I have been slacking.
I was eating Eggs, Chicken and some kind of fruit..

I would stay full til lunch... then have chicken, or turkey etc. salad

First and foremost, dont beat yourself up! I'm not an expert, but I know being kind to yourself helps the motivation factor. Second, I found that it took a few weeks for my body to adjust to eating a smaller calorie amount. The first few days I didnt freak out if I went over my calories...and now I find myself under most days (I'm going on my 3rd onth on here).

Feel free to add me for support! I can definitely offer that!

It would be helpful to know what your weight, height and target calorie limit are.

Without knowing that some things you can try are eating more protein, more veggies and fruits, some good fats and some low GI carbs.

You may be hungry simply because you aren't eating enough. That meal probably wasn't big enough. You could happily have more chicken breast and perhaps something like brown rice, sweet potato or quinoa to fill you up more.

Your supper sounds very healthy, but when you talk about the food you ate afterwards, it sounds a lot like the stuff people want when suffering from cravings. Try eating low calorie, nutrient dense foods like vegetables. You can either cook them, or eat them raw with some Greek yogurt veggie dip. If you're not willing to eat veggies to satiate your hunger, then you are probably just having some killer strong cravings, and are not actually hungry.

You know, after al these years of following all the same advice I am getting right now, I think this has to be true. There is no way any human can still be hungry after eating all that. I could easily go and pile on a couple of bowls of cereal and a cup of yogurt. But I am in MFP in an attempt to stop from eating anymore. I think that somehow my brain is not getting the message. I just did a little searching and found a book that looks promising. It's called "overcoming binge eating".Apparently alot of people have had good results with this mans strategies.
