Swimming Equivalent

Mfp,

Does anyone know of a graduated swimming conditioning program? Like C25K, but for the pool?

  • The Speedo Pace Club has different types of training programs you can select based on your goal (speed, triathlon, etc) and they'll give you detailed workouts to follow. I believe there's an iPhone app for it, too.

    For either, I also suggest:

    http://www.lifeproof.com/shop/us_en/audio/h2o-audio-surge-sportwrap-2g-waterproof-headphones
(or their equivalents, but those where already open for some reason)

seeing as both have smartphone applications, and music is a good thing.

Thanks Tim! So what have you been up to for the last four months?

Work, video games and tea. Lots of tea. I do get to see the sun a bit, now, although that's usually at the cost of not sleeping for a couple of days. Going to post updates on how the plan is going for you, or shall we infer from that feed thing?

If you want to increase the amount of laps you can do consecutively, 0 to 1650 (a swimmer's mile) is great!

When you need different and more diverse workouts, swimplan.com is good too - you input your ability level and it gives you workouts, as you improve, the plan improves with you.

I can post updates here. Or we could start talking again.... My feed though is probably the best bet 'cause I'd be logging the workouts if nothing else. Also these forums are not the best for extended conversations since it gives you no alert that someone's posted anything.
