I exercise everyday(JM 30DS) and eat at a deficit. I was doing great and measured myself a few days ago, I'd lost 4 inches. It wasn't my imagination or anything. Then thanks to injuries I had to hold back my exercise, and I went over my calories the second day. So three days of no exercise later, I look like I've gained back all my inches! My pants feel tighter, and the change I observed is no longer there. It's not like I ate 3500 extra calories, but can water retention (from just two days) cause all this change?

    Yes.

Thanks, I was really worried. I thought I'd badly affected my metabolism, but thought it was scientifically impossible to gain weight in two days.

Guess I just have to start bootstrapping now.
