That is a very vague question...not able to answer without more information. I am apparently a minority on MFP...I don't understand for the life of me why you would eat back your workout calories. Generally speaking losing weight consists of burning more calories than you consume. You do have to make sure you are eating enough based on your activity level and fitness goals. You also have to eat the right kind of foods, etc. If you are not eating enough, you body will find stored energy to burn to fuel itself. If it does that, you body will go right for your muscle fibers, because it is easier for your body to turn muscle into energy that fat. So the game is to eat enough of the right foods (at the right time) and force your body to burn more fat than muscle. This is a great site with a lot of information, but my suggestion would be to do your own research and experiment to find out what works for you and your body. I realize my answer was vague as well, but if you have further questions, feel free to ask me and I will do my best to answer them or steer you in the right direction to find the answer. Don't rely on people that comment on your posts (including myself), are bodies are different and our goals are different as well. Educate yourself!

This website's food log is designed to have you eat back your exercise calories, which means you NET the daily goal. When you do that you are still at a large calorie deficit. mgeorge: This is the reason your goal calories change - your exercise calories are added in.

If you have used a different calculation method to set your daily calorie intake, then don't eat back your calories because no other method will tell you to eat so low. 1200 is very low already (for me an 830 calorie deficit from my "calories burned from normal daily activity" - see under your Goals tab), so if I burn additional calories exercising, I eat more to be sure my body gets enough nutrition.

Many would argue that 1200 is actually TOO low, even if you eat net. Others do fine for a while not eating their exercise calories back, but I have seen people with net calories under 200. If that were long-term, they aren't giving their bodies enough calories to grow hair, make the kidneys, liver, heart, lungs, and brain work much less build muscle or be an efficient fat-burning machine.
