Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone else has had gastric bypass surgery done and if so how do you calculate the calories when your pouch can't hold much. On an average day i can only take in about 900 calories. If anyone has any answers it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. dmb0422

  • I'm not sure how far out you are but I'm sure that makes a difference. I actually just saw the Bariatric nurse this week and she suggests I not go over 1000 calories a day, get 80 grams of protein and not go over 80 carbs. I really don't count calories... I just count protein and carbs, but I don't think I go over 1000 anyway. I was starting to slip a bit so I needed a wake up call from our Bariatric Nurse. I'm back on track now... and hoping to lose this last bit soon! I wish you the best... :)

    Hi,
Welcome to MFP, great to have you here, I think you'll fall in love like the rest of us:drinker:

In regards to WLS there are a number of ppl on here that have one of several out there. A great way to find more members that have had WLS & may even be able to offer tips and much support is by beginning a new thread and title it with the topic your looking to find support in so others can jump in and welcome you and such.

Not having had WLS I'm not much help in responding to your specific questions but wanted to offer that idea so you could find all the support here you need:flowerforyou:

    Best to you,
    Becca:heart:
