Need to Improve

I've been trying every new fad out there to loose weight. This website seems to be simple to use and might just be what I've needed all along. I love that it offers a support system too! I look forward to improving my overall health with this website :)

In all my experience, I have learned "FAD" diets just do not work. Sure they work for a bit, but then the weight comes right back on. For years I tried every diet there was it seems. Then I just started to eat healthy (don't look at it as a diet at all) I eat from all the basic food groups. I eat breakfast, lunch, supper and 2 to 3 snacks a day. It is working. I even slip up and have something sweet to eat etc. but it is for that one time and right back to eating healthy. I learned I can not deprive myself of the good stuff forever. Just limit it to few and far between.

As I said, I am not into the Fad diet stuff, but if you want to add me for support plz do.

Fad diet... never last. that's why they are fad. This is to support a healthy lifestyle. Track your foor even the not so great stuff. drink your water and a few walks a week.

and use the support system here.

me too, the fad diets havent worked for the last 20 years so I am sticking to plain and simple - eat less and move more. I do MFP though, great support

The only way to lose weight is to eat less and move more. A fad diet will work at first because you restrict calorie intake - thus the weight loss. But can you maintain the diet for the rest of your life?

Look to change you diet and lifestyle to something you can stick with and enjoy!

A few of you say eat less and move move move. I eat more when I am losing weight. It is just different kinds of foods. Before, I was a one meal a day person. no breakfast, or lunch. Now I eat my 3 main meals and 2 to 3 snacks a day. I eat lots of veggies and at least 3 fruits a day. Before it was grab a burger/fries etc. didn't eat healthy at all and I paid the price.

My tracker shows zero weight loss, that is because I just joined MFP. I have lost from 262lbs to 225 lbs. so I am doing something right. I feel better, lots of energy etc. and most important. I look better. :) getting to the stage where I am enjoying cloths shopping now even.

I too found that the more i eat the more i loose. I started with just skipping meals and eating once a day. I wasn't loosing and stayed hungry all the time. My boyfriend talked me into adding breakfast to my diet and I noticed that clothes were starting to get looser. Now I have added a little bit of a challenge and though I'm no longer loosing weight I am not gaining either. I am trying to make up for the extra eating that seems to come with quitting smoking by adding excersise. This website is definately helping me with that. I know that if i dig into the nutella (which i have a HUGE weakness for) I have to excersise that much more.
