Do you think calories should be displayed in every restaurant so if you were tempted to eat Chinese food or Indian food you could as long as you ate a small portion of it without feeling guilty?

So many companies would lose business lol. But it would be great to have it listed on the menus. That way people would at least be more concious of what they're putting into their bodies.0

No they wouldn't0 -
I was thinking they would lose money but customers have the right to know what they are putting into their bodies.0

I think they should. We went to a McDonalds the other day (I know bad but needed something quick) and they had the calories and everything on the menue so i could quickly pick want I wanted to stay with in my goal. It made it easier than pulling my phone out and looking.0

I think its ok to eat junk food once in a while responsibly like once a month or something. I think if companies were to do it peeople would be more food aware and chose food responsibly.0

Much easier said than done. The big chain restaurants have test kitchens, staff in place to do this kind of stuff, and strict corporate guidelines to how each meal is prepared down to the ounce. Independant restaurants have none of the above. Even if they gave you the calories, it would be a guestimate, but as a cook for many years, I know that the calories could vary as much as 200-300 depending on many factors that go into preparing it.0

I think it should be mandatory...although many bigger restaurants (Outback, Applebee's, etc) have their nutritional information posted on their websites, it takes too much time, research and planning to go out to dinner to even want to waste my time doing it! I dislike going out to eat (which is sad because I LOVE indian food) because their is so much variation in the recipes...you never know if its a healthy option or not.
I know that I went to McDonald's recently, for a drive through coffee, and was very pleased to see their nutritional info on their board. It only reaffirmed how horrible their food is. I think that will influence the choices people make when they go to these joints... (hopefully) and maybe make the establishments more accountable offering better options.0 -
I just think the government, hospitals and other people say people need to lose weight and eat sensibly but their not actually helping us at all with us getting the nutritional information that we need to lose weight0

I wish. It would help me.0

Yes, and arrange the menu in order of lowest to highest calories.0

I think it would help us all but instead we're in the dark of what's in our food like today it was reported Tesco and Lidl use horse meat in their burgers; if it wasn't reported we wouldn't have known0

I think nutrition information available should be available, but I don't think it should be displayed on the menu. There are 10 million women and 1 million men (probably a low estimate) with eating disorders. Having calorie info in your face can be very stressful at a minimum and triggering at it's worst. I have seen it first hand. I know several restaurants that have a book (like a wine list) on the table that you can look in. Some have it posted on a wall or in a tri-fold type brochure.0

I don't think it should be plasted all over the walls but it should be displayed either on a website or in a booklet0
