I'll let you in on a little secret, that's not a secret AT ALL to people who know me in real life. I'm a horrible gift giver.
Period.
I get stupid, nonsensical things that you don't need or want, things you'll most likely throw away in a month or lose somewhere in your messy "throw all" room.
Most of these types of people have resorted to gift cards, but I just CAN'T bring myself to miss that pesky Christmas shopping that we all enjoy.
Now, onto the actual point.

I have no idea what in the world to get my boyfriend for Valentines Day.
Is it just me, or does any other woman feel like they fail at life because they DON'T want to get their special man a dozen roses and a big box of chocolates? It's just unmanly, plain and simple. so, what do you get a man for V-Day, then? Nothing? That just sends this gut feeling to my inner core that says,
"you're a horrible person because he got you two dozen roses, a card that made you cry, a box of your favorite candies, and a dinner for two at your favorite restaraunt...and what did you get him?

NOTHING."

NOT AGAIN, MY FRIENDS. I can't do it AGAIN this year, so I'm asking, BEGGING for some guidance.
What do I get my man for Valentines Day?

  • One year, I made my husband an "Owner's Manual" for me. It had my favorites - food, color, song, movie, etc. Then it had a page with old school pictures, stories about me as a kid, basically a mini autobiography. Then I added pictures of us. The back of the book I left blank and wrote in letters to him. The idea was that I would continue to write letters there in the future. He liked it because it helped him know more about me, and it didn't cost anything, but had time and effort in it.

What about wrapping yourself up for Valentine's day? Or buying some cute lingerie to wear for him?

I usually get my husband a card and some candy. Very simple since it's only Valentine's day...

Yeeeaaaahhhhhh....... I was thinking about the same thing... Only I have to come up with something for our 3 year dating anniversary the 23rd then a couple weeks later got to do something for V-day.... So I am definitely stealing both of these ideas.. I also thought about the little coupon book thing only put things that he will like for me to do in it.. Like things he is always begggiiiiiinnnnnggggggg me to do and include stuff like guys night, not all sexual stuff.... I think he will enjoy it. Good luck girl!!!!!!!!!!
  • Wow, both of those ideas are awesome! I think I may do the "owners manual"... Love it! I told my husband to give me some flowers and chocolates (I even got him the coupon codes for chocolates.com: usa515 and for bfflowers: vantpromo50), so I will get to decorate our room with the roses and we'll share the candy once I give him my present. I was also thinking about getting some cute lingerie and making him some coupons that he can "redeem" (like a massage, making his special dinner, etc). It should be fun!
