Dear Dieting Gods:

Please, help me during this time of indulgence in NOLA. May I not stray far from my resolve. May I easily overlook king cake in all its forms both--vodka and cake. My I remember my shrinking waist line and thighs during this dark and wonderfully beautiful time (2 weeks) in my city. May I also be not too hungover and filled with beer and (gasp) 1 million calorie daiquiris. Please, fill me with happiness and beads and joy that my costume looks like a million dollars while I joyfully drive as designated sober person on more nights than I consume.

PS...also please let the Superbowl pass in my fair city without the thought of duck wings and blue cheese dressing whilst guzzling Abita Amber Beer.

    I am in Lafayette...I am so thankful that no one has brought a King Cake to the office yet!

    I have an Aunt from Baton Rouge who mails me a king cake every year. You just reminded me to call her and let her know not to - thank you! (Although, I have to admit it will be missed).
