snacking at night

Hi my biggest problem seems to be at night after walking for an hour I just want to keep snacking. I really watch my calories during the day and exercise at night since I work till 6pm. What can I do to stop snacking at night or what I can eat a lot of that won't put the weight back on? I also heard if you eat after 8pm it is easier to gain weight. Any help or suggestions would be great! I'd love to loose at least 50lbs
